Today we continued to work towards building the front of our ISN as a reference guide for future use. We did a Popcorn Read Aloud of the handouts "Keeping Interactive Notebooks in Science: Left Side" and "Keeping Interactive Notebooks in Science: Right Side." We glued these handouts into our ISN (Left Side on page IV and Right Side on page V) after I (Mrs. Batt) demonstrated how to glue items into the ISN using the "Dot to Dot - NOT A LOT!" strategy. During the Popcorn Read Aloud we discussed what Left Side Output and Right Side Input should look like. I showed the students some student samples/examples to help them understand the expectations for both sides of the ISN.
We also discussed the bathroom policy and students were given their Bathroom Passes.
We then made a Life Science Foldable Flip-Book (an example of a Left Side Creative Output) of our Classroom Information which will be glued into our ISN later this week.
Students had the remaining 10 - 15 minutes of the period to complete any missing/incomplete assignments.
