WEDNESDAY 5/22/19 - I#21: PROPERTIES OF WATER TEACHER DEMONSTRATIONS AND ISN CHECK 12 OFFICIALLY ASSIGNED
Students from 2nd and 3rd period were testing this morning and did not attend my class.
Today students watched a video to familiarize themselves with Water Striders. We then introduced the phenomenon around which our investigation centered - Why are the Water Striders falling into the river?
I then demonstrated two simple experiments (the Toothpick Star and the Water and Oil experiments). Students were asked to document their observations by modeling. They were given links to Web research to help them make sense of the experiments, label their modeling, and pinpoint the property of water that they were observing in the experiments.
Students will be participating in several student-led experiments tomorrow to help them complete this lab.
