Today we began class with a discussion about expectations for ISN Check Assignments, ISN Clean-Up Days, and ISN Peer Reviews.
I then introduced our Status Update Cups. Status Update Cups are a classroom strategy that we will use to quickly indicate/assess when students understand (purple) or when students need clarification (orange).
For periods that did not complete the NGSS CCC portion of the reflection yesterday we did so today by addressing the CCCs of Patterns and Cause and Effect (see the attached pictures for the notes to be added to the reflection).
For the remaining 35 minutes of class we addressed and answered our Lab Reflection Questions. Students were given three minutes to discuss and answer a question while working in their small groups. After three minutes, we rejoined as a whole class group. During the whole group discussion, students volunteered the answers they decided on and we discussed ways to flesh-out, clarify, and articulate high quality answers. All periods answered questions 1 - 5 in class. Students were asked to complete the remaining two questions on their own.
