Today we looked at the Engineering Design of the Cup Pyramid Challenge by reviewing the pictures of the student builds. We also watched two short videos to introduce the concepts of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Science and Engineering Practice (SEP) 2, Developing and Using Models, and the NGSS Crosscutting Concept (CCC) 1, Patterns. We then discussed as a whole group how we practiced using models and recognizing patterns to help us complete I#1: Cup Pyramid Challenge. Students then had about 10 minutes to answer the two reflection questions they had written down during the Warm-Up.
