Today students participated in a PopCorn Read-Aloud of "Keeping Interactive Notebooks in Science: Right and Lefts Sides." Students were asked to complete a simple Venn Diagram as an Exit Ticket with at least three examples in each section.
Students prepared the Exit Ticket for their Warm-Up (I projected an exact copy of what I expected to be completed for creating the Exit Ticket during the warm-up). During our read-aloud, several OBVIOUS hints were discussed as examples that could be used in the Venn Diagram. All class completed their reading with AT LEAST 10 minutes left of class time to work in their small groups and complete the Exit Ticket Venn Diagram.
I also demonstrated how to glue items into the notebook by using very little glue along the top edge of the notebook and only glueing-down the top edge of the paper. This style is called a Flip-Up and allows us to use the backside of the paper as well as the actual notebook paper as well.
