Today students reported their findings (inferences) to the WHOLE GROUP and supported their claims with evidence from their observations. After all inferences were discussed, the class voted on the inferences. I collected data for us in a data table that I projected for them.
This year, behavior inhibited us from completing this task in one period. Some periods were able to get through 9 out of 10 boxes while others could only complete 3 out of 10. Please discuss with your student the disadvantages of not following procedures/rules when engaging in a class discussion.
For this reason, we will carry-over this activity to tomorrow (which disrupts our entire schedule for the week and means we cannot get to graphing the entire 7th grade class data until THURSDAY).
