Today students continued collecting and recording observational data to complete Lab #2. At the beginning of class I reiterated the expectations for the lab and provided additional examples. I also reviewed the concepts of qualitative and quantitative observational data and particularly highlighted how qualitative observational data is not an opinion (subjective) but is as close to factual (objective) as possible.
While about half of students were able to complete the Lab today with a high degree of quality and accuracy, many students are still struggling with making and recording observational data versus making and recording opinion. For this reason, I am extending this lab and allowing students to complete it during class tomorrow.
