Today the students created a reference page for the NGSS Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs) and the Crosscutting Concepts (CCCs). These reference pages will be used on future labs to help the students answer questions, draw conclusions, and write reflections. I suggested to the students that this activity should only take them roughly 20 minutes. This meant that, if they worked diligently, they would have the remaining period to work on completing ISN Check 01 which is due 9/20/17.
As the students participated in this activity I circulated the room to have a verbal feedback conference with each student regarding their Lab #1 (Cup Pyramid Challenge). We discussed things they did well as well as things that could be improved. I made sure that the students understood what they were missing and how they could improve their grade. Students may email me their completed work (I will need pictures of all four pages) and I can adjust their grade this weekend if need be. Otherwise, labs may always be resubmitted with corrections to improve their grade at any time prior to either the Progress Report or End of Trimester cut-off dates.
If they were unable to complete their SEP and CCC cut and paste then this activity must be completed for homework.
Please note: For some reason my ISN is numbered incorrectly (I have two page XII). The CCCs are really on page XIII.
Reminder: ISN Check 01 is due on Wednesday, 9/20/17!!!!!
