Today students had the entire period to complete their Trimester I Reflections which were due at the end of the period.
I also did an agenda check today to confirm that each student had the upcoming due dates for ISN Check 04 (11/29/17) and Project #1 (12/01/17) written properly in their AGENDA before leaving for break.
Students that completed their Reflections were given Chromebooks to work on researching their Symbiotic Relationship for Project #1.
Many students are still making poor decisions and are choosing to not complete classwork as evidenced by blank, incomplete, or poorly written reflections. I will be calling home for these students the week we return from break to encourage parents/guardians to schedule a Parent Conference since this Reflection is the first grade for Trimester II and some students are already failing as a result of their lack of effort.
Powerschool will be ready for Trimester II as of 11/27/17 and this will be the first available date for me to enter grades. Please check your student's grade after 11/27/17 for Trimester I Reflection. A 0/40 indicates that they did not turn it in or it was less than half complete. A grade of 20/40 means it was at least half complete but incomplete nonetheless. I highly recommend that parents/guardians schedule Parent Conferences for any student that begins a new Trimester with a failing grade.
