Today students received their Final Exam Study Guide as well as their Late Work Submission sheet.
I went over the late work submission requirements with them IN DETAIL and showed them an example (the example is posted here). I am requesting that late work is submitted this way to allow me to grade quickly and easily since I will only have one day to submit my final grades.
I also discussed Academic Integrity with students again. I felt it needed to be addressed as I have seen an increase in students claiming another's work as their own. I was very specific about the notes they could use on their Final Exam and those that they could not use.
Students were advised to spend the remaining portion of the period ensuring that they did not have any "illegal" notes (other people's work) in their ISNs. Use of the ISN during the Final Exam is the student's oath that only "legal" notes (their own handwritten work) is contained in the ISN.
Student's were then free to work on their Study Guide.
The Make-Up Assignment for Investigation #16 is attached below and will be due on 6/11/18.

The boards should say ISN Check is Due 6/06/18 - it was corrected by 4th period but I forgot to take a new picture.
Students were assigned ISN Check 11 today and we went over it line by line together. Students then had 20+ minutes to work on any incomplete assignments.
Today students were to have their individual slides complete as homework before coming to class. In class students had the entire class period to work together to put the polishing touches on their projects and re-submit them to me by the end of the period.
At this point, students have had 8 days and 5 full class periods dedicated to completing this project. Sadly, I have had several BLANK projects submitted. This project is not eligible for late work at this point in the year. If students want to improve their grade, they will need to submit an individual project to replace their grade on this project. I will create a new assignment which will be available this Friday and the new project will be due by Monday, June 4th.
Today students were assigned a group research project for which they need to create a Google Slides Presentation.
Students will be given class time to use the Chromebooks but should be researching/planning their project every night for homework to make use of their Chromebook time.
Daily goals will be posted. Ten points of daily class credit will be assigned, in addition to the research project credit, to ensure that students are utilizing their class time effectively. This daily class credit WILL NOT be available for credit as "late work."
Today students practiced their AVID Strategies of Marking the Text, Writing in the Margins, Cornell Notes, and Creative Outputs while reading the article "Acid Rain." from the US EPA. This was an individual assignment. As students worked toward completing this assignment, I conferenced with individual students about Investigation #14 and Investigation #15 to help them complete these assignments for full-credit.
