I apologize for the inconsistency in the WEBSITE as of late. The Website editor has not been working reliably. I haven't been able to post pictures without spending hours trying to get them uploaded. I have emails into Weebly to discuss the technical issues that I have been experiencing. Please bear with me through these technical difficulties.
Today students analyzed their data from I#7: Cookie Mining by calculating their Profit or Loss. We answered questions 1-4 together as a whole group. For question #5, I gave examples and explanations but asked each of the students to creft their own answer for this question since each student had different ecosystems affected by their cookie mining. I asked the students to turn the lab no later than 12/05/18.
Today students participated in I#7: Cookie Mining. We conducted the activity today and recorded data. Tomorrow we will calculate our Profit/Loss and answer the lab questions together in class.
Students that DID NOT have I #6 completed did not participate in the mining and eating of the cookies but will collect and analyze data with us tomorrow. Instead, these students were given the entire perid to ensure that they finished I#6 and turned-it-in.

Today students had a substitute teacher because I was at an NGSS Professional Developement for the District Office.
Students were given the SEP #6 packet as well as the answer key to help them complete the packet. The packet was due by the end of the period to ensure that students were on task for the substitute teacher.
TUESDAY 11/27/18 - RENEWABLE VS NON-RENEWABLE NATURAL RESOURCES (ISN Check 05 ASSIGNED)
Today students watched a 4 minute BrainPop! video on Natural Resources to help them form a working definition of Natural Resources, as well as Renewable and Non-Renewable Resources. After the video, we worked together as a whole group to complete our Resources Table on the back of our KWL. We discussed Energy Resources, Lan Resources, and Air and Water Resources and documented our choices on the table. After this, we circled our renewable resources in blue and our non-renewable resources in red. During this discussion, I projected the worksheet as I documented our choices to help students complete their own work.
After this, students had 15+ minutes to begin working on their notes for pages 48 and 49 in their ISN.
ISN Check 05 was also assgined and is due on Wednesday, 12/05/18.
